HAGUES PEAK:

• Hagues Peak ranks as the highest mountain in the Mummy Range and in Larimer County, and the 4th highest mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park. Hagues lies hidden among lesser peaks (such as Mummy Mountain and Mount Fairchild), and is often climbed together either with Fairchild or Mummy.

HALLETT PEAK:

• At 12,713ft, Hallett Peak reigns over the Bear Lake area, and is one of the most photographed peaks in Rocky Mountain National Park. Hallett offers some of the finest technical routes in the park, but it is also a favorite destination for hikers. Views from the summit include Longs Peak, Glacier Gorge, Loch Vale and the Continental Divide (which Hallett lies on).

  Tyndall Glacier lies just north of Hallett Peak, and is easily visible to hikers. Tyndall also offers a unique glacier climb, and is very popular.

• Joe Mills Mountain (11,078ft) rises to the west of Odessa Lake.

• Knobtop Mountain (12,331ft) resides on the continental divide, and is easily accessable from the summit of Flattop Mountain. It can be climbed via a simple hike across the Bighorn Flats.

LADY WASHINGTON, MNT:

• Climbers of Longs' Keyhole Route know Mount Lady Washington (13,281ft) well. Several miles of the hike are spent skirting this talus-covered peak to get to Boulderfield. However, Mount Lady Washington is strategically placed to offer some of the best views of Mount Meeker and the Diamond.

• Lawn Lake Trail is a popular and well-groomed trail leading from Horseshoe Park to the heart of the Mummy Mountains. The trail follows Roaring River up to (and beyond) Lawn Lake, nestled at the base of Mummy Mountain.

  In 1982, the Lawn Lake dam broke, causing a major flood along Roaring River. Remnants of the flood are obvious: car-sized boulders lay strewn about, amongst other debris. The Alluvial Fan, located in Horseshoe Park, was a direct result of this flood.

• The Little Matterhorn (11,586ft) rises above Odessa Lake to the east. The Little Matterhorn is the end of a ridge extending eastward from Knobtop Mountain. The climb to the summit is extremely exposed in places, and a rope is recommended.

• At 14,255ft, Longs Peak is the monarch of Rocky Mountain National Park, and is visible up and down Colorado's Front Range. The area is rich in scenery, especially the spectacular cirque below Longs' shear eastern face, known as the Diamond. Longs attracts thousands of visitors each year, and for good reason. Longs offers dozens of technical routes, and is considered one of the best alpine climbs in the United States.

• Mount Meeker (13,911ft) forms the southern boundary of the great cirque below Longs Peak. Mount Meeker is the second highest peak in Rocky Mountain National Park, but is often overshadowed by it's 14,255ft neighbor. Regardless, Meeker offers a host of climbing opportunities, especially on its heavily glaciated northern face.

• Created by the glacier which carved the Longs Peak/Mount Meeker cirque, Mills Moraine is a necessary obstacle for climbers on the Longs Peak Trail. Mills Moraine was named after naturalist and guide Enos Mills, who is known as the Father of Rocky Mountain National Park.
