Trail Ridge Road Area

Major Trails:
Abandoned Road:
- This trail follows an old automobile road, used in the
1920's. The trail connects the Alpine Visitor's Center at
Fall River Pass with Forest Canyon Pass, and offers the
easiest route to the Gorge Lakes.
- From this trail you can visit the following: Arrowhead Lake, Azure Lake, Doughnut Lake, Forest Lake, Highest Lake, Inkwell Lake, Little Rock Lake, Lonesome Lake, Love Lake, Rock Lake.
Deer Mountain Trail:
- This popular trail leads to the summit of Deer Mountain,
near the Park's eastern border.
- From this trail you can climb the following mountains: Deer Mountain.
Green Mountain Trail:
- This short trail in the western side of the Park is
usually hiked with the Onahu Creek trail, making a
pleasant loop around the Green Mountain area.
- From this trail you can climb the following mountains: Green Mountain.
Mount Ida Trail:
Poudre River Trail:
Timber Lake Trail:
- This trail leads to Timber Lake, and offers an
alternative route up the Mount Ida group of Continental
Divide peaks.
- From this trail you can climb the following mountains: Jackstraw Mountain.
- From this trail you can visit the following: Julian Lake, Long Meadows. Timber Lake.
Trail Ridge Road:
- Trail Ridge Road is one of the great alpine highways in
the United States. It crosses the park from east to west
and then drops into the Kawuneeche Valley, where the
North Fork of the Colorado River flows. The road's
winding course takes you 12,183 feet (3,713 meters) above
sea level and into a world akin to Earth's arctic
regions. It is usually open from Memorial Day to
mid-October depending on snowfall.

Gore Range Overlook, Grand Lake Entrance, Lake Irene, Many Parks Curve, Medicine Bow Curve, Milner Pass, Poudre Lake, Rainbow Curve, Rock Cut, Trail Ridge Road High Point.
