- Alberta Falls is a popular, picturesque waterfall just
one half mile from Glacier Gorge Junction, via the
Glacier Gorge/Loch Vale trail.

- This appropriately named brook flows down from Chasm
Lake, into Tahosa Valley. The Longs Peak Trail roughly
follows the brook until treeline.

- Battle Mountain (12,044ft) lies northeast of Mount Lady
Washington. Unfortunately, any views of Longs from Battle
Mountain are blocked by Mount Lady Washington. However,
this largly unknown mountain still makes an excellent
goal.

- Mount Chapin (12,454ft) lies south of Chiquita and
Ypsilon, and is often climbed with these two higher
peaks. Mount Chapin is a short, uncomplicated hike from
the Chapin Pass Trailhead.

- Chasm Lake is one of the most scenic spots in Colorado.
The lake lies inside the cirque formed by Mount Meeker
and Longs Peak, just below the Diamond.

- Mount Chiquita (13,069ft) lies south of Ypsilon Mountain.
Chiquita is considered the easiest 13,000 foot peak in

- Nestled at the base of a great cirque on Fairchild's
eastern face is Crystal Lake, also reached via the Lawn
Lake Trail. Crystal Lake is perhaps the deepest lake in

- This popular summit (11,006ft)lies northeast of Longs and
offers a panoramic view of the Longs Peak area.

- Mount Fairchild is several feet lower in elevation than
nearby Mt Ypsilon. Fairchild is commonly climbed via the
Lawn Lake Trail, though it can be climbed via the
difficult ridge between Ypsilon and Fairchild.

- Aptly named, Flattop Mountain (12,324ft) rises north of
Hallett Peak, and offers easy access for hikers to the
Continental Divide. The Flattop Mountain Trail starts on
the north end of Bear Lake, and climbs 4.5 miles to the
summit. Along the way are spectacular views of Dream Lake
and Emerald Lake, as well as Tyndall Glacier. Several
other trails (North Inlet Trail, Tonahutu Trail) also end
atop Flattop Mountain.

- Gabletop Mountain (11,939ft) resides near the continental
divide, and is easily accessable from the summit of
Flattop Mountain. It can be climbed via a simple hike
across the Bighorn Flats.
