Increase the number of visiting guests in the Winter season.

Communicate recreation opportunities in the Westcliffe, Colorado area using the Internet's World Wide Web technology to the 156 million users of the Internet.

Increase guest visits to the Community in the Winter months by Communicating the wealth of Winter recreation available in this area.
Offer Westcliffe and the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness as an alternative to Estes Park, Colorado and Rocky Mountain National Park.
Encourage the development of Winter recreation activities that are Fun!

Offer opportunities to Learn by developing a robust Community based educational system.

Consider being Teachers to the people who come to visit the Westcliffe community. Consider the visitors as Students.
Offer Learning opportunities and opportunities for increased Wellness to both the visitors and the residents.
Offer Learning experiences from the Scientific, Athletic, Spiritual, Philisophical, Artistic and Theological traditions. The more facets to the Learning experience, the more well rounded the Community will be.....
Provide an attractive and comfortable environment as an important part of the Learning experience..... We need excellence from the Teachers as well as attractive Learning environments. Move toward Balance..... The physical environment is only part of the Learning experience.....
Encourage people to Learn as much as they are comfortable with each day.....
If you are Learning; you will be having Fun!

Provide balance to the current economy which is based primarily on ranching and residential construction by attracting a small Engineering, Scientific & Theological research community.
Use the Internet to express our desire for a permanent community of Knowledge Workers.
Encourage the evolution of a robust Telecommunications infrastructure to support the research community.
Use the Internet to establish an Intellectual connection between the Village of Westcliffe and the rest of the world.
The Beauty of the surrounding area will be reflected in their work.

Introduce methodologies from the fields of Operations Research and Information Systems analysis into the Westcliffe, Colorado community. Revenue increases of 15% - 70% are achievable.
Focus at first on helping the local Ranching Community; then move into the general business Community.
Teach the residents of the Village of Westcliffe how to use the Internet to lead more successful lives.
We have to keep getting better if we are going to Survive!

Introduce the benefits of Team approaches to most challenges.
Use the technology of the Internet to encourage Teamwork and Communication.
Use the Internet newsgroup "co.general" to post status reports. Look for a subject field of "Project Sangreal - Internetwork for Westcliffe, Colorado"
Establish the Internet newsgroup "westcliffe.general" to increase Communication within the Westcliffe Community.
Introduce the use of cross-functional Teams that Communicate using Internet technology.
Share what we are learning in the course of Project Sangreal with all the Alpine communities of Colorado.
Move toward synchronized Intelligence.
Work smarter not harder!

Construct and publish a Strategic Plan/Engineering Roadmap for the Community using input from a Community wide cross-functional Team.

With help from the Sonoran Institute, begin a Visioning process that will lead to publishing a Strategic Plan for the Community.
The Strategic Plan should be a 5 year projection with updates at least once a year for the next five years.
Finish the first iteration of the plan by July 4th, 2000.
Plan for a maximum population in Custer County of 12,000 people by year 2012; 20% of the population will live in the Village of Westcliffe, Colorado.
Publish the plan on the Internet, in the form of a paper document available in the Westcliffe public library and in the existing Community newspaper, the Wet Mountain Tribune.

Capture the scientific, historical, and cultural Knowledge unique to this area. Construct a knowledge base and Communicate that Knowledge in the form of the text, color images, sounds and video clips referred to as hypermedia.
Using a Combination of Internet related technologies along with the existing printing and distribution systems of the local newspaper and the facilities of the local public library; increase the level of Communication and the collection and dissemination of Knowledge in the Community.
The first step toward Enlightenment is of course....... Knowledge.
