We are working toward a new Zoning Resolution for Custer County.

I was easily able to reach out to about 100 Mathematicians, Philosophers, Priests/Theologians. General Contractors, Economists, Military Officers, Realtors, Artists, Bankers, Engineers, Accountants, Librarians, Attorneys, Biologists, Animal Scientists, Politicians, Hydrologists, Geographers, Cartographers, Ranchers, Blue Collar workers and the Idle Rich using the Communication technologies of the Internet.

People from diverse backgrounds who live in the Westcliffe Community that can contribute to the construction of the new Zoning Resolution.

There should be a lot of "Thinking" going on about the proposed Zoning Resolution as a result of this effort to Communicate.

Here are my suggestions for the latest Zoning Resolution:

I suggest we plan on a maximum population of 12,000 folks in Custer County by year 2012 with 20% ( 2400 ) of the people living within the limits of the Village of Westcliffe. The current population in Custer County is about 3540 people as of October 23, 2001.

Another 20% ( 2400 ) would live in Zoning Districts 1 & 2....... This would leave 60% (7200) of the people living in the remaining districts.

I suggest we proceed with the Hydrology study of the area to make sure my distribution of population can be supported by the availability and distribution of water.

I started working with Doug Kane of the United States Geological Survey and Dr. Thomas Ley - The Hydrologist for the State of Colorado on this aspect of our planning efforts by electronically mailing them our proposed Zoning Resolution.

Everything is connected with everything else and the planning efforts have to take place concurrently......
