. Introduction
In November 1993, at the suggestion of Town Trustee George Hix, a task force of citizens and Town of Estes Park staff was formed to initiate actions relating to telecommunications services in the Town and surrounding areas. Following an initial meeting, the task force formulated the following mission statement:
To influence providers of telecommunications services to place such facilities and service capabilities in the Estes Park area so that business development dependent on such facilities and services may occur and so that residential users will be provided with modern facilities in quantities sufficient to meet their needs.
The task force membership consisted of the following individuals: George Hix, Richard Widmer, Richard Matzke, Eric Blackhurst, Dick Webb, and Al Wasson. The task force met on several occasions, and with this report concludes its activities as originally planned, effective March 31, 1994.
So, the trusted community leaders of Estes Park, Colorado started thinking about the future of their Town....
