Solo Alpinism

Considered by some to be the ultimate challenge in climbing.... Learn the discipline of Solo and Roped Solo climbing where your only partners are the Wind and the Mountain itself... As the Chinese Philosopher Lao Tzu taught us over 2000 years ago: "We never tire of one another... the Mountain and I".

This will be a specialty course lasting as long as the Student feels there is more to Learn from the Teacher. We would recommend a start of three one day outings. We will be encouraging you to go out on your own when you are not with the Guide.

The course will be shaped to the needs and abilities of each Student. The goal is to make you comfortable with climbing alone.

This would be a commitment of one week to start your training program to be a Soloist. The course will follow the pedagogy of Arthur Vyn Boennighausen's book "Himmelsleiter - The Art of Solo Climbing" which is published on the Web at:

Cost: $300/day. One Student per Guide maximum. Arthur Vyn Boennighausen will be the Guide for this course.
