Ecuador

"Break 20,000' and Canoe the Amazon"

The Andes of Ecuador run as two parallel and impressive chains of peaks, rising dramatically from Pacific coastal lowlands on the West and even more abruptly from the Amazon Basin on the East.

This is an incredible trip. We visit Indian villages in the high valleys of the Andes, climb 19,300' Cotapaxi (the world's highest active volcano), and climb Chimborazo, 20,703', Ecuador's highest peak and the furthest point from the center of the Earth. We also explore the jungles of the Amazon and even float rivers in the Amazon in dug out canoes!

We combine two incredible world class high altitude mountains with exploring the mystical Amazon, visiting remote Indian villages and experiencing first hand one of the world's undisturbed and unusual natural environments. Break 20,000' and canoe in the Amazon. Take yourself on this superb Ecuadorian adventure.

We are soliciting your input as to whether you would be interested in having the Sangre de Cristo Mountaineering School offer this outing as a future course..... the course is not offered at this time.
