Climb the highest peak in the Western Hemisphere. Aconcagua, rising 22,835' above sea level, rises some 4,000' above it's neighboring peaks, and is easily visible from the Pacific on a clear day.
Aconcagua is located in the Mendoza Province, part of west-central Argentina close to the Chilian border. A starkly beautiful place, Aconcagua allows the hardy mountaineer the unique opportunity to climb to high elevations without many of the objective hazards encountered in the Himalayas.
Argentina is reliable and modern compared with much of South America. Perhaps nowhere else "South of the Border" do we enjoy the friendliness of the people and the journey to the mountains so much. As always, for this trip, a strong desire for adventure is needed.
We are soliciting your input as to whether you would be interested in having the Sangre de Cristo Mountaineering School offer this outing as a future course..... the course is not offered at this time.
