Colorado's "Fourteener's"

Take on Colorado's most famed "Fourteener's" by their most classic and exciting routes. Some involve challenging rock routes such as the Ellingwood Arete (Grade III, class 5.8) on the Crestone Needle in the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness. Chosen by Steve Roper and Allen Steck as one of the Fifty Classic Climbs of North America in their book by the same name.

Follow this path to read about an ascent of the Crestone Needle

Others involve great snow and ice routes such as the Cross Couloir (Grade III, class 4 steep snow/ice) on the legendary Mount of the Holy Cross. An icy dip into the lake known as the "Bowl of Tears" at the base of the climb is supposed to cure all sickness.

The Northwest Couloir (Grade III, class 4, steep snow/ice) on the Maroon Bells is as close to Heaven as many of us will get. Natural pyramids of purple granite; the Maroon Bells are imaginatively named after a bell that is still vibrating after being struck by God.

If you are really Good; how about 14,345' Mount Blanca that is considered one of the most Sacred mountains in the world! Legend has it that you could meet the Spirit of the mountain in human form while on the climb...

Custom Teams will be built to take on these great mountaineering routes, so if you have a yearning for some remarkable "Fourteener's" and mountain adventures, contact us for details. Dates and mountains are open at this time.
