DAY 1: While climbing and working on climbing technique at the 5.8-5.10 level, study protection, organizing lead gear, belay, top-rope and rappel anchors and self rescue techniques from a leaders perspective.
DAY 2 & 3: Through climbing appropriate, long, multi-pitch climbs, apply and build upon leading skills developed on day one, including moving you into leading on top rope.
DAY 4: You become the leader. Many mistakes are made by every climber when he begins to lead - poor nut placements, rope drag, running out of rope, unprotected traverses, lack of thinking ahead, and on and on...
We will work through various situations, critique placements, rappel off from mid-climb, and help you make that first step towards leading.
DAY 5 & 6: You help choose long and hard, multi-pitch routes and we will climb as many pitches as possible, at or near your limit, to solidify the techniques developed and learned in the previous days.
DAY 7: It doesn't come any better or any more exciting than climbing on a long and beautiful glacier carved mountain spire. The entire day will be filled with the very best climbing the mountains have to offer. What an ending to an incredible week of climbing and learning.

You may request any climb on Heaven's Ladder Spire near Westcliffe, Colorado at any date you choose, or you may join any day of the scheduled climbs.
